Monday 26th November
We spoke a bit about our pitches
and helped each other with ways we could improve them. We now have to perfect the
Pitch with 250 words.
We then got told to sit in our
own space and close our eyes and relax ourselves and listen to what sounded like
a poem Mr. Fearnehough was reading which was called a ‘Euphoric Poetry’. We had to then think about a performance we had
seen in London and think of emotions, smells, experiences, feelings, words etc…We
had to then write all the things we thought of on a piece of paper, we then all
said the words out at the same time. We were then told our weeks homework to do
an acid test on all the words we had written down.
Wednesday 28th November
Wednesday was Abby’s BIG DAY she
had to present her TPPP presentation and her master class! It was interesting
to see how her experience was of TaPS because she was in a completely different
location to the rest of us in London.
After Abby's presentation, we talked
about ‘Audience Perception’ with Mr.
Fearnehough . The audience perception is
about how the audience always recieves a different perception when watching a
production, film... because of different aspects:
space
culture
mood
personality
interest
senses
gender and age
After this discussion we then did freeze
frames of the words we wrote down on the Monday lesson. Everyone’s freeze frames
were different and interesting to be put in to.
It was then Abby’s turn to do her
Master class which was about Slow Motion, which was really interesting and fun
to learn about through the activities Abby planned. It made me understand Slow Motion better and
how it can be used in choreography in fight scenes during performance. And the master
classes showed us that it takes a lot of skill to learn Slow Motion.
Thursday 29th Novemeber
Thursday was Axel’s turn to do
his master class which was on ‘Verbatim
and Lineals’. I already had an idea about what it was because I was in the
same ensemble then Axel in London but being in a much smaller group was better
to go over the things that weren’t very clear to me. Axel explained them really
well and now it’s even clearer than it was in London when we learnt about it.
He gave us good examples of companies that do verbatim theatre. The exercises
we did were really fun and interesting to do even though I had already done it.
I would really like to do Verbatim or
Lineals in a future performance because they look so entertaining and real.
